My grandmother was an artist and my inspiration. She loved to share her passion and gifted
me with lessons as well as art supplies and books at every opportunity. I also inherited my
ability to look at life with a creative eye from my Grandma Emily.
I have worked in pencil, paint, sculpture and multi media. In the late 1990's I was introduced to stained glass and fell in love with the medium. My love of stained glass and multi media has evolved into my passion for mosaic art.
I have also enjoyed the process of incorporating found and recycled objects into my art. My window pieces are created with windows I have collected over the years. My Garden Whimsies are created with recycled bottles or vases along with treasures that I couldn't pass up in thrift stores and garage sales. My jewelry is made with pieces of bottle glass that I have fused. I love to find beauty in simple items and give them a new life.
I currently show my work at Grizzly Ridge Upcycle Art Gallery 123 E Hood St in Sisters Oregon.
I have participated over the past four years with CrackedPots Artists at the McMenamins Edgefield show in Troutdale Oregon. I also showed my artwork at the 1st Crystal Springs CrackedPots show in SE Portland Oregon April 2016.
My work was displayed from July to September 2017 at the Oregon Garden in Silverton Oregon. The Art in the Garden event included works from eight highlighted artists.
My formal education includes an AA in Fine Arts and AS in Graphic Design. I also attended San Jose State University studying Fine Art and Design. Recently I have been learning the art of fusing glass and love all the options and techniques.
